Exciting project for 2024

Forging Ahead 2024. An exciting project led by Shropshire Music Service and funded by Arts Council England for 2024. This is a multi-artform year-long project involving 3 primary schools in Broseley, Shropshire. The projects focus is on the area's Industrail Revolution and particularly the Coalport Ferry Disaster of 1799. Karen is the composer for 2 original songs for KS1/2.

Shropshire Music Education Hub

Karen Kirkland Music is a partner of the Shropshire Music Education Hub. SMEH is a group of organisations, led by lead partner Shropshire Music Service, whose collective aim is to promote and facilitate high quality musical learning and experiences throughout the county of Shropshire.

Karen's Choral composition "A Peace Blessing" performed at Symphony Hall, Birmingham as part of the Music Mark West Midlands Sing event. The evening concert, conducted by Keith Orrell. involved 14 music services from the 14 local authority areas of the West Midlands. The afternoon workshop for KS1/2 also performed "Mister Mole" from Karen's children's album "That sounds good to me".
