Bay Community Singers, based in Grange-over-Sands, commissioned Karen to compose the piece " Across the Hills to the Bay" to celebrate the choirs 10th anniversary. Saturday 4th May 2024 saw the performance of the song as part of a joint concert with Of One Accord Choir. Karen had travelled up with Of One Accord, a Shrewsbury based award winning choir, to hear the performance. Jane Thedham, musical director of the Bay Community Singers, said "What a day and evening, so great to catch up with Karen, perform her beautiful compositions and share the stage with Of One Accord Choir who were fabulous. So emotional performing with Karen listening to us". The concert also including a joint performance of another piece by Karen " The Peace Blessing".
