A Shropshire composer's work is due to be performed at one of the region's most prestigious venues next month. Karen Kirkland, who lives in Ditton Priors near Bridgnorth, will be at the Sing! With Music Mark West Midlands at Birmingham's Symphony Hall on February 12th.

Good or bad, these innovations are here to stay and new ones are being invented all the time. As educators we have to prepare our students to think and be creative in this rapidly changing world. Our future depends on creative innovation.

Of One Accord Choir In Shrewsbury Performs Karens Music
Of One Accord choir, a mixed voice choir based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, recently released their Christmas cd featuring the carol " Hear the Angels Sing" by composer Karen Kirkland. Several other works composed by Karen have also been premiered by Of One Accord. "Hear the Angels sing " is available as sheet music.
Shropshire Sings at the West Mid Showground
"Shropshire sings" is a fantastic annual event in July, organised by Shropshire Music Service. Each year this amazing event involves over 2000 primary school children enjoying singing. Shropshire sings has premiered many of Karen Kirkland's songs for children. This year will see the performance of 12 new songs composed by Karen especially for this event.
